no need for excercise.

i am moving tomorrow!!! i have two huge suitcases packed full....my school bag packed full, my backpack full plus two other small bags. and i still have a ton more stuff to pack, including my bedding and pillows. dad would not be happy about this. but i'm excited to move.

things i will miss about living here:
.my brick wall
.wonder chicken

things i won't miss about living here:
.the awful smell that greets me everytime i open the front door
.the cats that die every morning and night WITHOUT FAIL.
.julie
.the gheetttoooo a. dresser that makes me angry every morning because it doesnt open properly
.the fact that every single thing in here is ghetto and was a gift to julie from someone ghetto including all the cups and silverware that don't match
.the bars/gate on my window.

the next time i write i'll be in a new home!!

p.s. morgan said she wanted to start working out. i said that there was no need for me to work out. i get enough excercise by running EVERYWHERE because i'm late to EVERYTHING and have to run up and down a million stairs at school and on all the subways. wow.

i should be packing.

so my dear dear friend, nik rivers, is on an LDS mission in NEW YORK. ever since i've been here, i've been thinking about how i should find his place and leave him a lil somethin somethin on his porch.
i shared this idea with oscar, the native. he said that we had to be friends for three years before he would go to scarsdale with me. scarsdale is 20 miles from where i live. i didn't think that this was far.
well, i text him last night and said "are you sure you don't want to go with me?" probably threw a wink in there or something, because he said he decided he would go with me. he was already up in the bronx visiting his dad so we met at a subway stop up there. we took the subway to the very end of the track, and we were still 6 miles from nik rivers' apartment.
so we left the subway station and walked down onto the street. since oscar knows wassup, he did this little hand wave thing that didn't even involve his arm and a guy came up and said "taxi taxi" so we walked into his car. he opened the door for me to get in the front and oscar was like...."i'll sit in the back with her" so we both got in the back, but had to use one door because there was stuff of the seat on one side.... we get in and he has theee thickest accent ever. we could not understand a thing he said except "mon", so for sure he was from jamaica. oscar kept whispering things to me saying "i feel so bad" and "i can't see a taxi drivers lisence anywhere" he said he had a really bad feeling about being in there!! so the driver was drunk and weaving all over and slamming on his breaks and all this...finally he let us off at 700 white plains road. niks address. and its a shopping center. so i give him 20 bucks and he leaves. we are left in a suburban area, with neighborhoods and shopping and no taxi's anywhere. we went to the address and it turns out that it is a doctors office. some sketchy lady that was in the building said that address was there and everything, but she didn't know an elder rivers and all the people in that building were doctors and lawyers.... so we just walk away.
oscar tried to talk to people who were in their cars, they'd make eye contact with him but they would NOT roll down the window, it was unreal. we finally run into two girls on the street and ask them how long it would take to walk to the metro north ("metro norf", oscar says) and she said it would take twenty minutes....then her friend piped up and said no it'll take fourty. so we were not havin it. we found a bus station nearby and stood by it. it was literally 20 degrees and it started raining. luckily, i had an umbrella. we looked at the time and it said the bus would pick us up at 944. it was 915. so we waited until 946 SO COLD and oscar was not happy. we look at the schedule again and turns out we had been looking at the a.m. time and not the p.m. so the next bus would be at 956. yikes, so we waited ten minutes more and finally the bus came around 10. we got on and it was FULL. FULL of black people. there were hardly any people driving on the roads and NO ONE had passed us on the street since we'd been standing there and every store was closed so we could not figure out where all these people had been. we get on and tell the driver where we need to go. he says 'okay' and we stand, since all the seats are full. everyone is talking to each other and laughing and having the best time-it was a party bus. so we literally drive less than 5 minutes and the driver pulls over and tells us to get out and walk three blocks and there is the train station. (40 minutes walk my eye!!!!) so we start walking the three blocks....which was actually like 6 blocks and horrray, there is the train station!
we meander our way up and ask a bro where to buy tickets. he told us "you better hurry i can see the train coming!!! if you don't get on this train the next one will be in an hour!!!!" all three of us run to the ticket thing so nervous because the train has now stopped at the station. i hurry and buy two tickets with my credit card and our new friend started running to the train saying "i'll try to make them wait for you!!" we have to wait for 10 precious seconds for our tickets to print and they finally do and we book it down two flights of stairs to the train. when we got there the doors (which was really really weird but we were too hurried to laugh about it) were closing ON A GUY working for the train. they were closing ON HIM on his stomach and back and he just took it. when they opened we jumped on and the doors closed right behind us and the train left!!! we barely made it in time!
on the fourty minute train ride home we listned to "last night" by diddy and keyshia cole. its a very catchy song. so when we got off the train and were walking home we kept singing "last night....i got lost in scarsdale...scarsdale...scarsdale.....last night....i met so many sketchy people...people...people " it was so funny.
oscar was not having it because it was 11 oclock and he had been hungry since we left at 8 and he was an ice cube. i told him he'd like the story when he woke up today. i can't believe how many sketchy people we met! i think we learned that we probably shouldn't have gone to NR's house, so God made everyone we came in contact with sketchy so they'd lie to us about where to go and everything. oh and on top of that, while we were waiting for the bus-we saw a HUUUGEE raccoon and it just sat there and stared at us. it was unreal.

p.s. of course i've been in the laundromat this whole time writing it and of course i've been getting the worst looks from all the people in here. i am a minority.

apartment water heaters are not reliable.

i planned on waking up at 9 today so i could shower and finish homework and hopefully be on time to school at 2 (...) but everytime my alarm went off and i put an arm out to hit snooze, i went back to sleep because it was so cold outside of my bed. finally i got out of bed and forced myself into the bathroom to shower. i let the water run for 8 minutes and it was freezing. so i have to reside in my freezing apartment without even a hot shower.

SHUTCHYO MOUTH.

today was so good to me!
of course i was ten minutes late to my 9 oclock class with only 8 people in it.
i walked in and had to squeeze past people with my huge bags and the teacher handed me the roll because i was the only one not signed in. so i write my name on it and hand it back to him. he looks and it and starts to lecture us on following instructions. apparently at the top it said write your name, last name first. and i had written alexandra robinson.
and he looked and me and i was just like "oh...sorry."
AWKWARD!
but then we learned how to write the alphabet! i should put a picture of it up. its a really fun class, drafting.
after class me and my friend dana went to her apartment. i didn't do an assignment we thought was due today and she had an extra so we went to print one out for both of us. her apartment was tiny and ghetto. and she lives alone. it was cute, but seriously so small.
then we went to historical styles and i took three pages of notes in an hour and half, that class is IN. TENSE.
you really have to pay attention, she goes so fast-but enough of that boring stuff.

we have these cats. that reside outside our windows at night. and really, they sound like they're in a WHOLE lot of pain. i can't hear them tonight. but we've heard them the last 4 or 5 days and i die everytime i hear them. last night i text casey (our wall is a curtain.) and was like those cats. right when i got a text from her saying "those cats are dying again!!!" and then i heard her recieve a text then laugh and i really died laughing and it was 2 am. we couldn't sleep, i don't know why the sound of cats moaning didn't get us to sleep.

me, oscar (www.youtube.com search =" oscar on eternal families "), casey, and a man (who wants a piece) named Rob went to I HOP. it was the unlimited pancake special. the good quote of the day came from this.
oscar is from new york and has lived here his whole life so has a really thick thug accent. he was very messily eating his 'all you can eat pancakes' and i remarked
"you are the messiest eater in the world!!" as he was dripping syrup all over. he immediately lashed out, pointed at me and said
"SHUTCHYO MOUTH LOOK ATCHYO SLEEVE!" and we all looked and i had the biggest piece of hash brown stuck on my sleeve.

we all got a pretty good laugh.

then those boys walked us home and i was laughing so hard i snorted (i think for the first time ever) and i had tears streaming from my face. everyone keeps asking me and casey, and me and morgan how long we've known each other because we get along so well. i told them tonight that casey was sent straight from jesus into my apartment.

i hate my apartment but love my room, too bad i have to leave it. but i will be so pleased and so suprised to have so much leg room in my new bedroom that i don't have to share!
p.s. i got rob to help me move. uh.

p.p.s. couch boy moved out! he didn't say anything about his missing alcoholic beverage and we can freely and happily roam around our apartment in leggings and a tank top and not be uncomfortable.

typing to annoy our couch 'tenant'.

so last night i was on my computer feeling woozy and sick. my light was off and i was laying in bed under the covers. couch boy came home and came into my room and seemed surprised to see me in there. he was like "wow what are you doing home its a saturday night blah blah, did your plans not go through...."
he was changing and hanging his clothes up in my closet and i shut my computer and put it on the floor and laid down. he continued to talk, obviously drunk, and i continued to give him short answers. when i said that the party we went to sucked he said "you'll get over it." and i was like what? and he was like "......" and i said "what did you say?" and he was like "oh, i think i misheard you."
so i think he was sassing me and felt dumb when i called him on it. finally, he left my room and went into the main room and was talking loudly with katarina. luckily i'm a heavy sleeper and it didn't keep me up.
so this morning i got up, ate breakfast in here with the light on, showered, all that jazz. got ready in my room while watching a movie (i made sure to keep the door open so he could hear it).
an hour before church starts i get my heels on. really, i already ate breakfast, but i act hungry. i walk into our main room with my heels clanking on the hardwood floor and loudly make myself a sandwich. wow, he has an open alcohol bottle in the fridge with no lid.
to dump it or not to dump it?

if he approaches me i'll say "well it was on the top shelf with no lid and i figured you were done with it and i didn't want it to fall and spill everywhere, sorry!!"

i have to get ready for church now hopefully he wakes up sometime soon or is annoyed. i think i'll go dump the alchy.

when lawyers get involved.

my "landlord" is refusing to give me my deposit back by the day i move out. she says that i have to find someone to fill the spot in the apartment that i wasn't occupying. my friend/roommate shelley is moving out of the front bedroom and julie says i have to find a second person to move in there and share it. even though that wasn't my room.
she's having an intern move into the room i'm in, so technically my spot IS TAKEN. so we talked calmly for awhile and she kept saying that i needed to fill shelley's spot because that is where i WAS going to move in february. but i never did move in there, so why would i have to fill the spot? finally she hung up on me saying have a good night this is going nowhere, goodnight.
and i text her saying "since you cut me off and hung up on me, this is what i was going to say-if i don't get my deposit by february 1st, i'll call my lawyer"

a couple minutes went by and she called and said "Hey, sorry i cut you off i had to call someone back. So is there anything you'd like to say?" she's VERY VERY VERY FAKE. i said "well i said what i needed to in the text. i'll call my laywer if i don't get my money on the first." and she was like
"well i think you need to think about it--"
"i've thought about it."
"...................................."

me and my two roommates were listening on speaker and she was quiet for so long, she was so scared. she tried to talk me out of it but i said obviously we can't figure it out between us, so we'll bring a third party in and he'll figure it out. she was freaked out.
i was very calm. on the outside but the inside was on fire.
we finally finished the conversation with her saying "i hope someone fills your spot" and me saying "yeah i hope so too but either way i'm getting my money"
and she said "SOOO how is everything else in your life going in nyc??"
and i was like "good. see ya." and hung up.

then i continued to post on the mormon craigs list saying there was a spot available contact AJ if you want to come look at the apartment. so if they come look and like it, i'm going to have them make the deposit out to me and whether or not julie wants to, i'll have the money right away.
just pray that someone likes it.
i took a sleeping pill in hopes of FINALLY SLEEPING.

p.s. mormon parties are always the same. no matter what state you are in.
they are just as bad, if not worse, in new york than they are in utah.
and if i have to go to another one of them, i will lose my freaking mind.

this is not your bedroom.

i posted a very long.
very funny post on here just barely.

about how i'm typing in the kitchen because...
ahh i am annoyed, it deleted it.

lets just say, there is a bro here that isn't paying rent. and that is living on our couch for free. since we only have one main room, he thinks it is his bedroom and it isn't. i'm typing in here because i hate him and want him to leave.

since its only midnight here and i can ever FREAKING SLEEP, i'll try to pull together what i lost.

okay literally two days before moving to NYC, the landlord told me that one of the roommates was having her guy friend stay here. being very panicky, nervous, and desperate-i said it was okay. well, two weeks later-ITS NOT OKAY.
we have a three bedroom, one bathroom apartment. all these rooms are connected by one huge room that is the living room/kitchen. well that is where he sleeps on OUR couch, and thinks is his room. for two weeks, we have not bothered him. whenever he is sleeping, i never go in there or turn on the lights. actually, whenever he is HOME i never go in there, because its awkward. we literally all just stay in our room when he is here.
well on saturday afternoon (seriously, it was 11:45a.m.) casey returned home from shopping. she didn't turn on any lights or open the blinds or anything, she just quietly put all her dishes away while he slept on the couch. she started to make lunch and accidently dropped her bowl and it made a loud noise. she said "sorry!!' and he said "just keep it down." well that pushed us both over the edge. we are the ones paying rent, HE IS NOT. that is OUR kitchen, we should not be uncomfortable in there, we should be able to live as if no one is in there, because he is not paying rent. he will have been here for over a month, living for free. ever since he said "keep it down" in your own house!! on a saturday afternoon!! its been even more awkward then ever. i have been spending unusual amounts of time in "HIS ROOM". i never make eye contact with him, its pretty awkward. oh and to add to it--his suitcase is in our front room sprawled everywhere. he never folds his blankets or cleans up his clothes. all his stuff including books, paperwork, and his computer are sprawled all over the table, he keeps his clothes in MY CLOSET!!! so he comes in every mother effing morning turns on the light and gets his clothes out of my closet. AND HE DOESN'T DO HIS DISHES. or help out around the house at all. i seriously asked him yesterday if he'd take out the trash because it was a huge black bag. our convo
me-"will you please take out the trash tomorrow?"
him-".....i guess."
me-"???"
him-"well i knew that question was coming, so yeah i guess i will."
me-"well its a huge bag and you're the only guy here. i guess i can TRY to take it out??"
him-"no its fine, i will."

well turns out he never took it out, so casey had to.

wow.
he's going to be so sorry he lived here.
the first time i typed all of this, i made food and ate it and used my computer on the kitchen table while he was trying to sleep. of course i was typing as loud as i could and OF COURSE i had to wash dishes to use because no one ever washes their own. while i was typing, he got up and turned off the light that i had on. lol.

in other news, we went to heath ledger's house.
it was really nice, not too many people were there, and it was a nice memorial.

i'll write tomorrow. while he's trying to sleep.

not everyone is heartless here.

i was on the subway the other day and a spot became vacant. i saw a 20ish year old man go to sit down, but then he saw me. i said "go ahead" and he was like "no its yours" and let me sit there. i was amazed.

confessions of a new york resident.

.i honestly. HONESTLY contemplate frequently if i should wear a pair of underwear one day, and turn it inside out the next day to reduce my laundry load. i haven't done it yet.
.in church (and everywhere else) sirens were BLARING. and everyone in the room acted normal like they didn't notice. i acted normal but i DID notice. and the sirens bounced all around inside my head and drove me crazy. it drove me more crazy that no one else seemed bothered.
.the only time i've felt really comfortable is at church, and last night at fhe when i was talking to a man from provo. he's only been here ten days and misses utah so much. we talked about how much we miss the mountains, blue skies, and how much we love the office. we then continued to say our favorite quotes like- "I'M A PRETTY NORMAL GUY. I DO ONE WEIRD THING: I LIKE TO GO IN THE WOMEN'S ROOM FOR NUMBER TWO. I'VE BEEN CAUGHT SEVERAL TIMES, AND I HAVE PAID DEARLY."
.i am often hungry becuase i don't want to go through the food my dad bought me too quickly.
.i've realized that there are the same types of people everywhere you go.
.if you tell a new yorker something weird that happened here, they say "well welcome to new york! hahahahah" and its REALLY almost as bad as "well at least its a dry heat!! :D:D:D"

my first day at school!!

it started pretty calm. i woke up at 8 oclock...the time i was supposed to leave for the train. so i rushed and got ready (i got all my stuff ready and had my outfit picked out last night becuase for SOME reason....i thought this would happen). i didn't shower or anything ;) and headed out at about 830. so i headed to where i thought the subway station was. i knew i had to walk a long way....so i walked a few blocks before i asked someone where the subway station was for the 6 train. i happened to ask the sassiest policeman, who was of course giving a parking ticket to someone. he said "UM you've got a long way to go if you want to get to the 6 train. its about seven blocks away and they are LONG blocks." i was very confused because when me and my dad walked there it was only, like, 5 and i had already been walking for awhile. so whatever. he told me to get on the subway station near us and take the C train down the west side and get off on 72nd street and then take the S shuttle across the park to 68th. so i got on the train and got off at 7200 and couldn't find the S anywhere. so i asked the person at the desk and she said that he gave me awful advice. and to take the bus that was right above the subway. so i went and jumped on the bus and it dropped me three blocks from my school and i ran into my class 15 minutes late. there were only 14 people in the class and i was the last one to enter.

so that was pretty cool. anyway i had a good day at school and made a friend! she was good to me and gave me good advice!

more later. luvz ;);)<33333

yikes.

things i've seen in new york that i've never wanted to

.a very old woman blowing her nose into her hand in the bronx, then continuing to shake the long long snot from her hand.
.a very, VERY angry chinese woman.
.a large rat. i was sitting on my front porch talking to william and i saw a rat run from under one car to another and then back. no thank you.
.a person ask my roommate for a 20 dollar bill. "for crack cocaine."

thug like things i've seen in new york and loved every second of it.

.a man with a match stick in his mouth instead of a toothpick.
.a man with a LEGIT limp.
.a very large, very scary man on the subway with a boombox playing the loudest dirtiest music for the whole train to listen to.
.a man on the subway playing a flute. another guy jumped in and bumped him and the flutest yelled "HEY watch it!" then calmed down and said "sorry man, come on in." and continued to play.

this place is unreal, i see the weirdest, funniest things all day long. i'm sure i'll have more to write later.

homeless already?

new york is a crazy place. and it gets crazier when you have a crazy owner of your apartment.
she told me i'd have my own room when i got here. so when i moved in and found bags in my room and clothes, i was very confused. turns out, the girl who was staying in the room was actually the girl who's room it was...sister. if that makes sense. but the girl whose room this WAS decided not to move back in (I WONDER WHY), and the sister took on another bed. so it left me with my own room. me and my dad went and bought new sheets and cute things for my new room. i called julie, the owner, to let her know i wanted my own room. we really played phone tag all day, we each called each other, like, 3 times. finally, we got ahold of each other and i asked if i could officially have my own room and pay the rent that erin, the previous owner of this room, had been paying. she said "oh actually one of my interns is moving into that room and she wants her own room. so you and casey are moving into the front room together to share like we'd planned in the beginning." we'd NEVER planned this from the beginning. and just yesterday she told casey she'd have the front room by herself. so she is lying to someone and just trying to make everyone happy and it isn't working.
so, in february i have to either share a room (right now it has one bed. but she said she'd get two beds for it. we'll see.) here, OR have to find somewhere else and lose the deposit money. so its pretty crazy and very stressful. its enough to be living in new york city by myself, but its another thing having to deal with housing drama. its been such a blessing to have my dad here with me, but he's leaving sunday. if we would have known about this sooner, we could have been looking for an apartment this whole time. CRAAZY.

another interesting thing. i think i'm moving home in december for good and i might not go to summer school here.

besides the drama, i'm getting used to new york. i went to my school and loved it.
it should be really fun, the teachers are all willing to help me and get everything figured out. i know how to get to my school and everything, yay. i talked to journeys and they offered me the jobb! its at a really busy place in midtown. right across the street from the huge macy's. i think i'm going to take the job there! the people that work there are crazy, and nice. one of them said "those eyes. thats all she needs in order to sell shoes." that is false, but was cute of him to say.
we saw the eiffel tower aka empire state building, juilliard,
 rockafeller center,
building they filmed enchanted in,
times square. we saw legally blonde on broadway which was AMAZING. i highly reccomend it. i get bored way easily and i was entertained the whole time! we went into the huge macy's and bought a really cute coat for my dad. we went to the NBC store and bought swag. "stuff we all get." i got an office poster, and an office shirt that is too funny.
dad got a heroes hat and other shwag for my family... not amanda sorry. :(

we were going to go to chinatown tomorrow to canal street and buy designer things but now i need to find a home! its 1 am and my dad just said i needed to go to sleep. he's sleeping in the bunk bed below me and i guess he can't handle the typing:)

goodnight.
