does this happen to you?

normal day, walking home from church and i stumble upon the puerto rican parade going down 5th ave. there's a video, but it only shows half of what i saw. it's long, but pretty funny.

then the other day we went to the museum crawl. on 5th ave, they had the street blocked off and all the museums were free and there was all this crazy stuff going on and chalk on the ground and stuff, here are some pics.
adam and i have been hanging out a lot lately....and he loves to take photos of me. so here are a few.
central park.
at our favorite restaurant.
at a little cafe on 84th street and columbus.

we decided to go to the bronx zoo! so funny and so sketchy. the only. THE ONLY. white people in all of the bronx until we got to the zoo and it was like a 15 minute walk.
it was so hot. i was sweating through my shirt (hot). this is a picture of me and a couple lions. can you see them.
 licking a giraffe's rear end.
adam took this artsy photo of me waiting for him.
this is the giraffe essentially eating OUT OF adam's mouth.
someone took this photo of us with our lion friend. adam and i are about the same height. the room was misty in there, that's why it looks weird and we look so hot messy.

beautiful bod.

i got my bike last night.
i took it to a mexican man around the corner to put it together since dan and i couldn't figure it out and dad wasn't here.....
he did a great job of adjusting the seat and handle bars just right and he also put on my new basket and bell!! i was so happy and so eager to let it take me to school. i felt pretty good about it on the way, stopped to get a slurpee, and locked it up outside.
i guess i looked pretty sorry on the way back though. i was riding along the street just chllin when a man says "i like your bike."
"thanks! :)"
"buuuttt you need a helmet."
"heh...:)..:/....."
The law here is, you need a helmet if you're under 12 or something. then it's just recommended. buddy, even though i may look 12 on my 12 year olds bike, i am of legal age.
then a few minutes later i was really actually strugglin. i was riding through the park on what i thought would be a bike path but was actually a 2 lane road under construction which would be fine if you were driving but my wheels were getting caught in the grooves and i was bouncing around like a rag doll. so i decided to pull over and chill on the curb for a minute when someone drives by and says "you should ride on the sidewalk.....be careful..."

hmmmm THANK YOU.

so i did take his advice and got on the sidewalk, even though it was covered with tiny rocks aka loose gravel aka my enemy from last summer and the reason for the scars on the whole right side of by bod. as i was riding in fear, an old man drove by with his windows down going soo slow because of traffic and in his italian accent yelled out "you've got a beautiful body!"

why was this the best weekend ever?

wednesday night my roommates and i went to a local "hot spot" aka Tao on 53rd and Madison for dinner. it was Tai's birthday and my upcoming. it was really fun, i am loving my living situation, i dont think it could be better. this is what they brought me for dessert. i love chocolate. <3

so my weekend of love started off on a street called park avenue with a few people you might know.
1. me
2. congresswoman nancy pelosi

3. congressman george miller (he thought i was twelve. most awkward man EVER.)
and 4. funny guy seinfeld

i will let you guys beleive that he is as funny in person as in real life, don't want to ruin the show for the kids.

so i hung out with those people thursday night, served drinks, wore a 12 year olds dress...the works.
after that i went to a friends house and enjoyed another episode of the office season 4.

"What is it like being single? I like it! I like starting each day with a sense of possibility. And I'm optimistic, because everyday I get a little more desperate. And desperate situations yield the quickest results." well said michael.
this is us on our way to watch the office. skillz.

friday was prom. i worked all day which resulted in me rushing home to shower, rushing to the shoe store and finding it closed, rushing to payless to buy shoes that i dont even know if i like very much, and rushing to my friends house aka dave and dans to get ready. dave:"come early so you can help me set up" me:"can i get ready there?" dave:"yeah bring your make up and get ready here, that would be fun! :)" so i did just that. and i'll leave the party to your imaginations because you'll probably imagine something better than it was.
famous oscar and i enjoying ourselves.
oscar, kate, tai, and myself. the only normals.;)
bond aka d train aka dan and i

the next day was saturday and it had a lot of potential. some friends decided to walk the whole length of manahattan from the bronx bridge on like 225th street all the way to the tip at battery park. 13 miles. they departed at 10:30 and i met up with them at 125th street at 12:30 or something. we walked and walked and walked (...) and walked through central park.
it was so pretty i was loving it. it was really really hot especially since i was wearing black so my friend gave me the shirt off his back....supporting oral cancer...thats why i was wearing it. not a fashion statement.
then this kid and his friend showed up on their bicicletas to save the day and take me on a ride. we rode down to columbus circle and ate lunch and enjoyed the weather and eats with all the millions of others who were apparently hibernating all winter. fact:there are 1.3 million folks who live on the island of manhattan fact: 1.8 million import themselves to the city for work school and other daily activities.
wheres waldo? '08
this is what i saw when i looked up. so cool.

chillin with the other million people at union square. by the way, the previous statistics didn't include tourists. what does that put our number at? this is me on daves bike. can i tell you that riding a bike through the streets weaving between people and cars is the scariest thing ever?

this is the person i followed the whole time. what would i do without him.

after we partied at the pier (I asked a local NYPD (WHO I HATE) if there was anywhere i could touch the water and he, being the cocky bi that he was, laughed and said i'd get a disease.) we hustled our bustles to the church to go to stake conference in our hiking gear. good thing oral boy let me use his shirt or i'd really be embarassed.
saturdays activities concluded around 3 am with me taking a not legit taxi home and talking to the driver about being "cath-all-ic" and "mormon". he tried to persuade me to drink because it helps you let loose and have more fun and i told him its bad that you need to drink to have more fun and he laughed. he asked if mormons were allowed to dance. when i said yes he seemed skeptical because i guess in order to dance, you're supposed to drink as well.

the next morning was the concluding sesh of conference. i was late of course but not that mad because it was surprisingly boring. my favorite part was when oscar olaya was asked to come to the front and share his testimony. he didn't know they were going to call. it was the most amazing thing i've ever heard. it was no longer than 2 minutes and him in his very thick accent sat up there and said "I'm leaving my sick father to go on a mission because i KNOW thats what i should be doing and i KNOW that God is here by me. i've never had a harder decision in my life but i know its what i need to do" it was so awesome and shocked everyone, i've never felt the spirit so strong.
after wards, me dave and dan enjoyed ourselves.
the weekend ended.
so.
weird.

edited version.

i am so spoiled.

"my dad bought me those."
"oh my dad said i needed a keychain for my house keys so gave me that."
"yeah my dad made that calender for me."
"my dad bought my metro card, what will i do in feb?"
"my dad flew out with me and stayed for a week."

most of these things were said to the same one person and he was like "wow you have a good dad." anddd its true. :)

yesterday me and casey hit up central park

it was kinda warm, so there were tons of people there playing soccer/football/roller skating/painting etc...
it was funny, it really was a flashback from the 90s.

then we weaseled our way into the metropolitan museum for free. its a donation fee...they ask you to pay 20 DOLLARS. then they probably make you feel guilty if you pay less. anyway, we got in for free with no guilt trip.

yes i am eating a popsicle. it was warmer but still freezing and i saw someone with one and couldn't help myself.

then we went to some girls to watch the superbowl. we didn't even finish the game before we left because we knew we had a really long train ride ahead of us and we were all three wasted. so we took a train for an hour and 15 minutes home.
when we got off we got tons of texts from people telling us about it and we saw people rejoicing at different stops we'd pass.

thats all anyone could talk about at school today. go giants.
