a.i saw Delaware the other night, and he did not talk to me like he did the other night. i guess rumors got back to him.
b.last night i seriously SERIOUSLY. saw people doing it in the backseat of a car that i think they thought was tinted.
c.we went to the west village last night and it was SOOOOO crowded. SO crowded. at 1 am we were trying to get on the subway and the stations were more packed then i've seen them and the trains were so squishy and so funny. my friend invited everyone over in the train to my house for an after party and wine. this arabian man loved it and laughed so hard and gazed into my eyes and into dave's eyes when he'd talk to us. i told them that they'd have to buy the wine because i'm only 19...and i'm mormon. and the man laughed soo hard and was like "good point."
umm okay.
in the midst of all the craziness, i hung out with two men last night that really think i'm somethin. one of them helped me find my much needed chocolate cake, bought it for me, then held it in his hand while i ate it. i will post pics as soon as they send them to me. its like amanda's moab bed sesh all over again but with only two guys (SOUND SO WRONG.)
p.s. remember that storm in moab? and how mad i was that the tent kept hitting my face while i was trying to sleep? and how i was soaked? and how i got so mad that i went and slept in the car while lizzie and amanda stayed in the crazy tent?

"new york has been very good to me."
3 scares in 24 hours are not good odds.
scare #1.
i was walking home from the subway at about 1:30 am with my headphones on unsafely loud and i notice some creep running next to me. i had my hood on and their face was turned into mine trying to look in my hood at my face. my blood ran cold for two seconds wondering what crazy person was doing this to me and when i looked over i saw that it was my roommate. she said she'd been yelling my name.
scare #2.
i was riding on the train mid afternoon. there were a few other people on there and the train stopped. it sometimes does that because other trains need to pass in front of it, and/or traffic is backed up. well, the engine turned off and all the lights went out. i really tried to stay calm thinking it was no big deal. about ten seconds went by and i was telling myself to breathe, but i panicked when i looked over at some new yorkers eying each other suspiciously. if they were scared, i should be scared. i got the claustrophic feeling where you're imagine what you'd do to everyone in order to fight your way out and find an exit and then the engine turned on and we started going-false alarm.
scare #3.
i was sitting across from a crazy drunk man. he sat down by a kid who was probably 14. when he started yelling things the kid scooted away from him. the man scooted closer, so the kid scooted away again. when the guy proceeded to scoot closer to the boy, the kid stood up and walked to the door and stood there, so bugged. i had my headphones on just lookin down, but i guess someone said something to the guy, because they started to laugh and the guy started yelling more. the one time i looked at him, he had a flask that he was hitting against the bench and made eye contact with me and his wild eyes. i immediately darted my eyes away because i did not want him to come sit by me... he was really bothered by these people so he got off at the next stop. when the door closed, he stood by the window and was yelling things at the people in the car, so someone in the train yelled at him and raised his fist, this made the crazy man very angry and he got up to the window and was yelling and yelling. well, our train wasn't moving, and when that happens, it sometimes means that the doors are going to open again and let in more people. someone from the end of the train yelled "you better hope that door doesn't open!!" because the guy was so mad and just yelling and yelling. finally, the train left, and the crazy man ran next to it for awhile until it started going fast. everyone on the train got a pretty good laugh, especially the kid who stood up because he didn't want the guy sitting next to him.
also, we went to the bravery concert last night. in between bands, i heard a couple talking to each other. i looked at him just in time to hear him sincerely say to his girlfriend, "new york has been VERY good to me."
i loved it.

not everyone is heartless here.
i was on the subway the other day and a spot became vacant. i saw a 20ish year old man go to sit down, but then he saw me. i said "go ahead" and he was like "no its yours" and let me sit there. i was amazed.

yikes.
things i've seen in new york that i've never wanted to
.a very old woman blowing her nose into her hand in the bronx, then continuing to shake the long long snot from her hand.
.a very, VERY angry chinese woman.
.a large rat. i was sitting on my front porch talking to william and i saw a rat run from under one car to another and then back. no thank you.
.a person ask my roommate for a 20 dollar bill. "for crack cocaine."
thug like things i've seen in new york and loved every second of it.
.a man with a match stick in his mouth instead of a toothpick.
.a man with a LEGIT limp.
.a very large, very scary man on the subway with a boombox playing the loudest dirtiest music for the whole train to listen to.
.a man on the subway playing a flute. another guy jumped in and bumped him and the flutest yelled "HEY watch it!" then calmed down and said "sorry man, come on in." and continued to play.
this place is unreal, i see the weirdest, funniest things all day long. i'm sure i'll have more to write later.
