i applied on craigs list for lots and lots of jobs. two weeks later, i had lost hope in any of them. however, victoria's secret called and invited me in for a group interview (ha). I went, and four of us were chosen out of eleven to stay and fill out paper work and all that.
they will let me know in two weeks if i got the job.
then, i got an email from another woman i wrote to. her name is julie. she works for a woman named liz. liz owns a business here in the city, and in washington. she has a 12 year old daughter and a husband living here. she has a house in the hamptons thats "i'd say about....1/2 done with renovations.", and she lives on.....92nd street and park ave.
julie called me yesterday for a phone interview and to explain about the position available. she said that since liz has so much stuff going on, she needs a personal assistant to keep things in order.
-make sure she has groceries
-she has a lot of parties, so help get everything ready for that
-she loves to give gifts. so in her house she has a gift closet that needs to be kept organized and updated.
-sometimes i'll need to make sure her daughter has eaten ("no cooking").
so i'm a little weirded out about all of this, its screaming Nanny Diaries. i thought that was the end, but when she asked me if i was going home for the summer i, of course, said "oh i'm not sure yet........................................." she said "oh thats good! because during the summer they go to the EAST HAMPTONS and take their assistant with them for july and august. really nice place by the beach."

"new york has been very good to me."
3 scares in 24 hours are not good odds.
scare #1.
i was walking home from the subway at about 1:30 am with my headphones on unsafely loud and i notice some creep running next to me. i had my hood on and their face was turned into mine trying to look in my hood at my face. my blood ran cold for two seconds wondering what crazy person was doing this to me and when i looked over i saw that it was my roommate. she said she'd been yelling my name.
scare #2.
i was riding on the train mid afternoon. there were a few other people on there and the train stopped. it sometimes does that because other trains need to pass in front of it, and/or traffic is backed up. well, the engine turned off and all the lights went out. i really tried to stay calm thinking it was no big deal. about ten seconds went by and i was telling myself to breathe, but i panicked when i looked over at some new yorkers eying each other suspiciously. if they were scared, i should be scared. i got the claustrophic feeling where you're imagine what you'd do to everyone in order to fight your way out and find an exit and then the engine turned on and we started going-false alarm.
scare #3.
i was sitting across from a crazy drunk man. he sat down by a kid who was probably 14. when he started yelling things the kid scooted away from him. the man scooted closer, so the kid scooted away again. when the guy proceeded to scoot closer to the boy, the kid stood up and walked to the door and stood there, so bugged. i had my headphones on just lookin down, but i guess someone said something to the guy, because they started to laugh and the guy started yelling more. the one time i looked at him, he had a flask that he was hitting against the bench and made eye contact with me and his wild eyes. i immediately darted my eyes away because i did not want him to come sit by me... he was really bothered by these people so he got off at the next stop. when the door closed, he stood by the window and was yelling things at the people in the car, so someone in the train yelled at him and raised his fist, this made the crazy man very angry and he got up to the window and was yelling and yelling. well, our train wasn't moving, and when that happens, it sometimes means that the doors are going to open again and let in more people. someone from the end of the train yelled "you better hope that door doesn't open!!" because the guy was so mad and just yelling and yelling. finally, the train left, and the crazy man ran next to it for awhile until it started going fast. everyone on the train got a pretty good laugh, especially the kid who stood up because he didn't want the guy sitting next to him.
also, we went to the bravery concert last night. in between bands, i heard a couple talking to each other. i looked at him just in time to hear him sincerely say to his girlfriend, "new york has been VERY good to me."
i loved it.

"I never realize how much I like being home unless I've been somewhere really different for a while."
being in utah was. so. good to me.
i thought that when i came a. my dad would shoot me and b. everyone would have their own things going on and i would do my own thing. but people actually made time to hang out with me, i really went to lunch with someone everyday and always had something to do at night. i love all my friends and my family it was so so fun.
it is really exactly what i needed.
i love this woman.
so much crazy crazy stuff happened. i'm sure my blog would be a lot more interesting if i wrote about all my male issues.
anyway now i'm back in new york chillin by myself in my apartment with no plans tonight.

i'm a crazy person.
Lyrics to my favorite song that fits perfectly since I've been here.
Some Crap About the Future by Electric President
"You spread your rusty fingers across the ledge. You get your grip and peer down over the edge, you watch the city move and breathe and migrate. You’re not apart of it, you’re broken now, like us.
I turn and brush the birds from off my shoulders and cross side-walks with an earful of white noise.
You sit up on your perch for the rest of the night.
You watch the moon and hope the damn thing crumbles.
You count the stars reflecting in the windows.
And then you realize just how minimal you are.
I stop and watch the airplanes leave the city.
And I silently wish I was on one.
You sit down slow and watch yourself in the glass, you reach inside and tear out all your cables. Snakes of smoke are dripping from your fingers. You have no body, just a cage to hold your parts...
I have no answers; I’m rambling.
I was never one to solve whatever has gone wrong.
You lie down on the roof and watch the sun rise, it's burning fingers rummage through your insides. And for a moment you feel like you’re alive and then it’s gone, so you get up up up baby, there’s blood on the sidewalks of this town.
They’ve got us on the ropes. But we don’t have to take it lying down anymore. Our hands aren’t tied now. Down, down, baby. Down in the in the center of this town.
They’ve got ‘em buried deep. Under layers of concrete are the bones of our past.
(Oh no, no)
We’ll leave on the evening train. It won’t be long, but it feels that way. But home never meant very much to us anyway. So we convince ourselves that we’re better off gone and maybe we’re right...
And we collapse on a road...on an old dirt road, where the sun doesn’t look like such a waste. And we fall asleep, under leaves of a couple of them nearby tress and we never wake again."
i'm truely crazy.

edited version.
i am so spoiled.
"my dad bought me those."
"oh my dad said i needed a keychain for my house keys so gave me that."
"yeah my dad made that calender for me."
"my dad bought my metro card, what will i do in feb?"
"my dad flew out with me and stayed for a week."
most of these things were said to the same one person and he was like "wow you have a good dad." anddd its true. :)
yesterday me and casey hit up central park
it was kinda warm, so there were tons of people there playing soccer/football/roller skating/painting etc...
it was funny, it really was a flashback from the 90s.
then we weaseled our way into the metropolitan museum for free. its a donation fee...they ask you to pay 20 DOLLARS. then they probably make you feel guilty if you pay less. anyway, we got in for free with no guilt trip.
yes i am eating a popsicle. it was warmer but still freezing and i saw someone with one and couldn't help myself.
then we went to some girls to watch the superbowl. we didn't even finish the game before we left because we knew we had a really long train ride ahead of us and we were all three wasted. so we took a train for an hour and 15 minutes home.
when we got off we got tons of texts from people telling us about it and we saw people rejoicing at different stops we'd pass.
thats all anyone could talk about at school today. go giants.

queens. not so good to me.
we don't have a working water heater.
and its pouring rain outside.
i haven't showered in two days. and our apartment is furnished with things that she got from the d.i. and if we want utincils and plates that aren't plastic, "feel free to buy them yourself."
